Sodomy refers to a moral crime (engaging in "unnatural" sexual acts) and/or a legal crime (which may be variously defined but which usually consists of acts of anal and oral sex). The term anal sex, on the other hand, refers to a variety of sexual acts involving or focused on the anus.
